USF Administrative Fee Notification
Effective August 1, 2010, First Communications will begin to charge the Universal Service Fund (USF) Administrative Fee on all Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) billed customers. This fee will equal 1.5% of all Interstate and International usage charges. The USF Administrative Fee is a monthly surcharge paid by the customer to recover costs associated with billing, collecting and remitting the federally mandated Universal Service Fee that is used to support telecommunications and information services in schools, public libraries and rural healthcare facilities as well as subsidizing local service to high-cost areas and low-income customers. This is a FCC regulated charge.
