As a subsidiary of First Communications, First Telecom Services operates fiber optic networks in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. Our fiber optic network is made up of more than 4,500 metro and long haul route miles touching over fifty tier 1, 2, and 3 metropolitan service areas. The long haul network utilizes the latest optical Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to offer transport services up to 40G.
In addition to utilizing the latest carrier class switching technology, the long haul network offers a unique route between New York and Chicago providing route diversity to protect mission critical data, and offering industry leading low latency to support applications where speed is as critical as reliability.
